How This Works

The expected ROI over the next month is based on about two years of backtesting correlation-weighted indicators. Success depends on large numbers risking only a small amount on each trade. As I’m still testing my indicators, I’m only risking less than half a percent of my portfolio in each trade.

I raise my stop loss above break-even as soon as I have a good cushion to avoid getting stopped out early. I’ve been able to do this about 80% of the time. I let my winners run and cut my losses early.

As I get better, I’ll be able to find more hidden opportunities.

However, I can also choose the expected ROI over the next year for long-term investing.

Edge Finder Buy Signals

These are based on the expected ROI based on backtesting 18 unique buy signals. I’m only risking a small amount in each one. I also use common sense to avoid errors.

Below are the symbols with the expected ROI over the next 6 months of trading days. I aim for at least 8% for stable stocks and 20% for more volatile stocks.

Caution: The stock market is volatile. These signals are best for long-term buy and hold.

This signal considers RSI across multiple time frames. It’s still low on the weekly, but rising on the daily. Although there are few signals on the weekly chart, this signal has been profitable historically for SPY on the daily and weekly charts.

AAPL 0.00%↑ Potential 6-month ROI: 24.6%

Apple had a long lower wick this week, and the institutional buy signal is active. This signal looks for clues that institutions are buying, and it’s been profitable across multiple time frames and stocks.

BIDU 0.00%↑ Potential 6-month ROI: 15.8%

This week, another stock with a long lower wick, and the institutional buy signal is active.

CCJ 0.00%↑ Potential 6-month ROI: 7.5%

The Bollinger band width contraction means the price was extremely oversold and is starting to rise.

A Preview Of My Favorite Trading Strategy

Only one trading strategy has been consistently profitable across thousands of trades. It has almost unlimited upside potential, with a limited downside. It pays me to own it while waiting for the move higher.

It’s extremely effective with my buy signals, and it’s ideal for long-term investing.

Is it risky? With proper position sizing, it’s less risky than buying shares. However, it requires adjusting.
